Compare Foods Weekly Ad August 19 - 26, 2016

You can see the latest weekly ad for this week from Compare Foods here: Compare Foods Weekly Ad (August 19 – 26, 2016).

In 1978, the Peña family embarked on a journey which would lead to the formation of Compare Foods. That year the Peña family opened their first supermarket in Woodside, Queens. After the initial success of this first store, the family expanded in the supermarket business, eventually having stores in Queens, Brooklyn, Bronx, and Manhattan.

With the experience of operating these stores, Eligio Peña had the vision of a supermarket chain that would provide quality products, exceptional service and low prices to the community. This new chain would be known as Compare Foods. After three years of working to make this dream a reality, the first Compare Foods opened its doors to serve the community on October 1989 in Freeport, New York. The success with which the first store was met encouraged the family to open a sister store in Brentwood, New York. Today, the Peña family operates stores in New York City, Long Island, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachussets, South Carolina and North Carolina. Wherever Compare Foods has opened a new supermarket, the community has enthusiastically embraced it and has continued to give it support.

Compare Foods works hard to better the communities in which it serves. It sponsors and supports local groups such as churches, youth services and non-profit organizations. It constantly looks to make the neighborhood and its surrounding area a better place to live.
