Shopko weekly ad is currently available in your local store. Shupco (formerly Shupco until June 2007) is a chain of retail stores based in Ashwabenon, Wisconsin. Shoppco was founded in 1962 by James Rubin, the first store opened in Green Bay. From 1991 to 2005, the company was publicly owned, with shares traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol SKO.

In December 2005, the company was acquired by a subsidiary of Sun Capital Partners and returned to private equity. In 1999, Shupco bought Bamida, a regional discount chain that mainly operates in small communities of 3,000 to 8,000 people.

Shubco Bamida acted as a separate division until 2007, when Amida was separated from Shubco and re-established as a separate company. In 2012, SHOPCO and BAMIDA merged into one company. Soon after, most of the stores in Bamida were renamed Shubco Muscat.
